A Micro ATX B850 board for AM5 builds that want PCIe 5.0 on both the graphics slot and the primary M.2 without paying X870 money. Four DDR5 slots, 2.5 Gigabit LAN, Realtek Wi-Fi 6E with Bluetooth 5.3, and a USB-C port on the rear panel. Triple display output from the integrated graphics via one HDMI and two DisplayPort.

Before you buy

Only one of the two M.2 slots is PCIe 5.0. M2A_CPU runs Gen5 x4. M2B_CPU is Gen4 x4. If you are fitting two Gen5 drives, only the first one will run at Gen5 speed.

The second full length slot is PCIe 3.0 x4, not x16. It is physically a x16 socket but electrically four lanes at Gen3. It is not usable as a second graphics slot and it will bottleneck a Gen4 expansion card.

This is not simply a smaller B850 EAGLE. The full ATX B850 EAGLE WIFI6E has three M.2 slots but only 1 Gigabit LAN. This Micro ATX board has two M.2 slots but 2.5 Gigabit LAN. The storage count and the network speed both differ, so check which one you actually want.

DDR5-8200 is an overclock ceiling, not a default. The board boots at JEDEC speed until you enable EXPO or XMP in BIOS.

1. Which processors does this board support?

It is an AMD Socket AM5 board on the B850 chipset, supporting Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 Series processors.

2. Are both M.2 slots PCIe 5.0?

No. Only M2A_CPU runs PCIe 5.0 x4. M2B_CPU is PCIe 4.0 x4, so a second Gen5 drive will not run at Gen5 speed there.

3. Can I use the second x16 slot for another graphics card?

No. It is physically x16 but electrically PCIe 3.0 x4, so it is not usable as a second graphics slot and will bottleneck a Gen4 expansion card.

4. Will my DDR5 RAM run at full speed out of the box?

The board boots at JEDEC speed until you enable EXPO or XMP in BIOS. It supports up to 256GB across 4 DDR5 slots, with speeds from 4400 to 8200 MT/s overclocked.
