MSI PRO B550M-P WiFi6E AMD AM4 Micro ATX Motherboard DDR4

One of the very few B550 boards anywhere that ships with Wi-Fi 6E including the 6GHz band, plus Bluetooth 5.3. B550 is a 2020 chipset, so a 6E refresh on it is unusual, and it is the main reason to pick this board over the dozens of other AM4 Micro ATX options.

Still the best value route into Ryzen

AM4 with DDR4 means a Ryzen 5600, 5700X3D or 5800X3D build costs a fraction of the equivalent AM5 platform, with no DDR5 premium. For a gaming build on a budget this is still the sensible platform in 2026.

Storage and expansion

Two M.2 slots, the first PCIe 4.0 x4 straight off the CPU at 64Gb/s and the second PCIe 3.0 x4 from the chipset. The PCIe 4.0 x16 graphics slot has Steel Armor reinforcement for heavy cards. Four SATA 6Gb/s with RAID 0, 1 and 10 support.

Display outputs including VGA

DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI and a D-Sub VGA port. The VGA output still matters for office, education and institutional buyers reusing older panels, and most current boards have dropped it entirely.

Front panel USB-C

There is a front panel USB 5Gbps Type-C header on board, which is rare at this price point on AM4.
