Sonic Frontiers PS5 Game

The first mainline 3D Sonic built around open zones. The Starfall Islands are freely explorable, and the structure is a real departure from the corridor levels the series ran on for two decades.

Open Zone

Run anywhere on the islands, solve environmental puzzles, and take on the enemies you choose to. Progress unlocks portals into Cyber Space.

Cyber Space

30 self contained levels that switch between third person 3D and 2D side scrolling, each with optional objectives: time attack, ring count and red rings.

Combat and abilities

Cyloop lets Sonic draw a ring of light around objects and enemies to trigger effects and strip enemy shields. Combat adds dodge, parry and a combo set you buy into. Enemies drop XP, and there is a skill tree plus separate stat upgrades for speed, ring capacity, attack and defence.

Titans

Collect all seven Chaos Emeralds to unlock Super Sonic, which is what the island Titan bosses actually require.
