Read this if you are on AMD
On a Ryzen AM5 system, this kit may be slower than a 6000 CL30 kit despite the higher number. Most AM5 chips drop the memory controller to a 2:1 ratio above 6000MHz, and the latency that adds usually outweighs the extra bandwidth. Combined with the looser CL40 timings, 6400 CL40 is not the upgrade over 6000 CL30 that the clock speed suggests.
On Intel it is a genuine step up, because Intel's controller scales with clock without a ratio change.
