Why 6000 specifically

On AMD's AM5 platform the memory controller and the memory clock run in a fixed ratio, and 6000MHz is the highest speed at which most chips hold a 1:1 ratio. Above that the controller drops to 2:1 and latency goes up, which can make a nominally faster kit slower in practice. That is why 6000 keeps appearing as the recommendation rather than 6400 or 7200.

On Intel the relationship is different and higher speeds do help, though by less than the numbers suggest.
